Cold Creek Bee Company Don't just eat our honey. Experience it.

How We Got Started

How we began
What began as a beekeeping hobby - with a single beehive, has since grown into a small apiary producing some of the finest multifloral (from the nectar of many species) and monofloral (from the nectar of one species) sourced honey found in the Southeast. To think it all started with a delivery of packaged bees is pretty incredible. In fact, the original package container below still resides in our home office.

Where we're located
Columbus, Georgia may not seem like a large place for the home of Cold Creek Bee Company, but when you consider it's also the founding location of many large companies like: Aflac, Coca-Cola and Carmike Cinemas (now AMC Theatres), it's just the right size. It's a place where you can raise your family, enjoy the great outdoors and get a sense for folks that hold fast to a foundational principal of "treat folks right and do what's right."

It's really good!
So what makes Cold Creek Bee honey so special? The experience and enjoyment of eating it, of course! The flavor of our honey is simply amazing and it's always determined by the variety of flora and nectar available from season to season. That's also why it's so unique and sought after. Year after year.

Below are some frames of beautifully capped honey. Notice the "girls" working hard to fill the lower cells with nectar. When the cells are completely full, they'll fan them with their wings to reduce the moisture content to approximately 16%-18%. At that point, the honey is cured and they'll cap the cells with wax which preserves the honey for later use.

Types of honey
Our signature product is a multifloral, wildflower honey. We also carry monofloral honey varieties like: orange blossom, mesquite, buckwheat, tupelo, blueberry and avocado. We're also working to add other monofloral types like: sourwood, some of the finest honey available. Each of these honey varieties offer unbelievable flavor and can be used for everyday use or paired with fruit, cheese or your favorite culinary dish. Your options are limitless.

There is no substitute for Cold Creek Bee honey. So if you want to see a great movie, visit AMC Theatres. If you want a cool refreshing drink on a hot summer day, ask for a Coke. But, if you want truly unprecedented honey, ask for it by name, Cold Creek Bee honey.

Care of our apiaries
It's simple, really. It's all about our bees. Our hives are continuously and meticulously managed to ensure strong, healthy bees. Why? Because a reproductive hive is a honey producing hive. Truly, there is no more fascinating an insect than the humble bee. She works tirelessly and without direction, but certainly, the marvelous byproduct of her efforts is honey. It simply doesn't get any better than that.

Here are just a few examples of how well our queens lay. The brown capped cells contain pupa that will hatch in a few days. The white, intermittent larvae in the cells were merely eggs just several days earlier and will be capped soon. In fact, it only takes 21 days from the time the queen lays an egg until a worker bee emerges from her cell to begin life's journey.

Our promise to you
Cold Creek Bee does not add anything to its honey to impart these amazing flavor profiles. All that is left up to our bees and Mother Nature. 100% pure, all natural honey. Guaranteed.

All the best,
